Why do we constantly buy things we don’t really need?

Our homes are full of things, our wardrobes are full of clothing. When I look around, I see free friends, people who are actually passionate about fashion and have a great sense of style. However, when it comes to their purchasing decisions, I see people who constantly buy stuff they don’t need. Pushing things into their drawers that have no more space. Then they sell their things and start buying again with the exact same patterns.  

Too many options – and no way to choose

Why don’t we have any idea of what we really want? What would actually suit us?

We try to get it right, try to learn, and promise ourselves to buy less. We tell ourselves:

And then we book our next holiday and buy three new dresses because we imagined how our future self will look absolutely amazing in these. 

The new parcel arrives and we get so excited. But then we remember „Do I even have a bag that I could wear this with?“ 

This cycle continues over and over again. The clothes end up forgotten and we regret this impulsive buying again.

Our overall lives are amazing. But we want to prioritize ourselves and look good. To then also feel good. After all, we deserve it, right? We work hard enough and we have the money to make it happen.
